If you’re like me, you probably have a list hanging in your office that contains contact information for places like the ASPCA’s Animal Poison Control Center and your local animal-control office. I’d also hazard a guess that you probably spend a little too much time searching for other names, phone numbers and website addresses for agencies that can be just as important in times of need for both you and your clients.
Well, waste time no more. The AVMA has recently updated and consolidated our Important Resources for Veterinarians web page that is designed to take the hassles out of finding the information you need. From the Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Veterinary Medicine, to blood blank resources, and pet-loss support and grief counseling hotlines, we’ve gathered all the information in one place. The print version of the document allows you to post the entire list, and it also provides space for you to include contact information for folks such as your state veterinarian, state public health veterinarian and even your insurance agent.
