Between September 13 and October 8, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN will be hosting an e-consultation on dog population management options with a special emphasis on animal welfare and health.
Stray and feral dogs create challenges for human health, animal health and welfare concerns, and the management of their populations has ethical, socioeconomic, political and religious impacts in many countries. This e-consultation will provide an opportunity for exchange of information between veterinarians, researchers, development workers, national and local authorities and the international community at large.
We invite you to join the staff of the AVMA Animal Welfare Division in contributing information from the veterinary community in the United States. For more information and to download a subscription form visit: http://www.fao.org/AG/AGAInfo/home/documents/2010_sept_econference-Dog_population.pdf.
Looking forward to seeing your contributions!
