The AVMA relies on a dedicated cadre of about 600 volunteers who help us set policy, govern the association and represent the interests of the more than 81,500 veterinarians who are members of your association. Our philanthropic arm, the American Veterinary Medical Foundation, is no different. And the foundation is looking to expand its volunteer base as its fund-raising and charitable efforts continue to grow.
That’s why the foundation recently launched a new online survey for those who are interested in dedicating some of their time to these worthwhile efforts. From scholarships for students and new veterinarians, to animal health studies and disaster relief grants, everything the foundation does is designed to benefit veterinary medicine, promote animal well-being and enhance research so that we will be even better prepared to deal with the animal-health issues of today and tomorrow.
If you have an interest in volunteering for either your association or your foundation – or perhaps even both – we invite you to check out the opportunities today by visiting the association’s volunteer web page or the foundation’s volunteer web page. We look forward to hearing from you and learning what talents you can bring to an already talented bunch.
