ACVS Cancels Annual Symposium

The American College of Veterinary Surgeons has canceled its annual symposium due to Hurricane Sandy. The meeting was to have been held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Md.

ACVS officials say they will contact registrants regarding refunds after the storm crisis has passed.

Here is the full text of the ACVS statement:

“ACVS has reluctantly decided to cancel the 2012 ACVS Veterinary Symposium due to Hurricane Sandy. We have carefully considered the implications of the storm regarding travel and available speakers and have determined that cancellation is the best course of action. We realize this decision will have ramifications for Symposium participants. ACVS will communicate with participants about refunds once this crisis has passed. Thank you for your understanding.
