Check out the recently posted AVMA State Legislative End of Year Report for 2012. It was a busy year in state legislatures across the country. The AVMA reviewed several thousand bills and regulations relating to the practice of veterinary medicine and distributed more than 2,400 alerts to state veterinary medical associations regarding items especially pertinent to the profession.
The report provides a summary of the various veterinary practice and animal health issues state lawmakers considered in 2012, as well as a more comprehensive review of the bills and regulations tracked by the AVMA. Also included are several court decisions that are particularly relevant to veterinary medicine, as well as highlights of revisions made this year to the AVMA Model Veterinary Practice Act.
