There’s another update in the ongoing jerky treats saga: on January 9, the following brands announced they were recalling chicken jerky treats products:
- Waggin’ Train
- Canyon Creek Ranch
- Milo’s Kitchen
The statements indicate that the products are being recalled because testing detected residues of an antibiotic that is not approved for use in the U.S.
We haven’t seen an official statement from the FDA, so at this time it’s unknown if this is or is not related to the ongoing jerky treats issues. We’ll post more information when it becomes available.
If you’d like to stay up-to-date on recalls, you’ll find information on our Pet Food Recalls and Alerts page as well as on our Facebook page and our AVMARecallWatch Twitter feed. In addition, we post alerts on the AVMA homepage in the “News & Alerts” tab when there are new recalls.
