Better Pet Health Begins with a Conversation

Partners for Healthy Pets members share one common goal: to ensure that pets receive the preventive healthcare they deserve through regular visits to the veterinarian. A critical piece of the Partners’ strategy is to build a national network of veterinary practices that will help spread the message to pet owners that regular check-ups and a commitment to preventive care are the cornerstones of optimum pet health.

It all starts with a conversation, and representatives from member companies will soon be visiting your clinic to help get that conversation started. These sales team members – the same ones with whom you’ve probably already built a relationship – will be your point person in helping you enroll in the Partners for Healthy Pets program, sharing with you the reasons behind the initiative and what you can do to help build a preventive pet healthcare movement that spreads across the country and touches the lives of both pets and their owners.

The Partners know that seeing a veterinarian at least once a year helps pets live longer, healthier lives. But we also know that some of our clients still think that veterinary visits are just for vaccines and emergencies. That’s why Partners for Healthy Pets will soon launch a powerful consumer campaign to help clients understand one simple step they can take to safeguard their pet’s health: the annual veterinary visit.

We need your help to get the message out, and that’s why we are strongly encouraging you to enroll in Partners for Healthy Pets. By enrolling in the program – either with the help of a visiting sales rep or online – you can prepare your entire team for having conversations with clients about the importance of regular check-ups and preventive healthcare. The program is free, easy to use and provides clear guidelines on delivering preventive pet healthcare. The guidelines, along with free training videos and other resources to help you talk with your clients about the benefits of preventive healthcare, are provided through the Partners website.

Partners for Healthy Pets provides credible and expansive resources for your practice to share the benefits of increased preventive pet healthcare with pet owners. Your participation in the clinic enrollment program, along with the Partners’ consumer awareness campaign, will bring more pets – and their people – to your practice. So be a part of the conversation today! Help us improve the health of our pet patients.

  1. “Regular check-ups and a commitment to preventive care are the cornerstones of optimum pet health.”

Is there conclusive statistical evidence that the statement above is accurate in its entirety? There are 2 parts to the the above statement: (1) regular check-ups and (2) preventive care. My own experience suggests that healthy pets seldom benefit from regular check-ups, so long as their immunizations are current.

    • “My own experience suggests that healthy pets seldom benefit from regular check-ups, so long as their immunizations are current.”

      – How do we know that they are healthy if we are not seeing them, touching them, and listening to them at least once a year? Are we to depend on the owners to do that? If every individual is as well trained as the veterinary school graduate to assess subtle but significant changes in the health status of his or her pet, then we as veterinarians have surely been duped in our long and expensive education.

  2. All our clients receive a complete year health plan tailored to their pets needs. We have a varied rural practice and therefore one plan does not fit all environments . We stress wth our clients that the reason you need a family Dr. and a family DVM is to coordinate all the health issues and prevent serious illnes before it occurrs. Thankks for your efforts for all of us DVMs in the field. nj
