The AVMA Congressional Advocacy Network (AVMA-CAN) is headed to Chicago for the 2013 AVMA Annual Convention July 19-23. We will be located in the AVMA Pavilion, booth #1034, where we will be providing opportunities for AVMA members and other participants to voice their concerns about federal legislation directly to Congress through the AVMA-CAN Government Action Center.
AVMA is tracking several federal bills that will impact veterinary medicine, including:
- Veterinary Medicine Mobility Act
- Animal Fighting Spectator Prohibition Act
- Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program Enhancement Act
- Prevent All Soring Tactics Act
AVMA’s Governmental Relations Division staff will be available at the booth to provide updates on these and other important bills impacting the veterinary profession. Be sure to stop by the booth and sign up to follow us on Twitter @AVMACAN for the latest news about what is happening at our booth.
If you’re not attending the AVMA Convention this year, you can still stay involved. Make sure you visit the AVMA-CAN Government Action Center online and track how your legislators are voting and how issues of concern are developing. In addition, visitors to the website can learn more about the AVMA’s legislative agenda and how they can help advance the veterinary profession in the 113th Congress.
