In recognition of the AVMA’s 150th anniversary, and the important work that veterinarians do every day to protect the health of animals, people, and the planet, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has declared July 23, 2013, to be American Veterinary Medical Association Day in the city.
We’re wrapping up our annual convention in Chicago today, and the city has been great to us, and this recognition is the cherry on top.
So feel free to celebrate AVMA Day, no matter where you live! Tell your veterinarian thanks, give him/her a hug (ask for permission first), and, if it’s been awhile since you (and your pets) have visited, why don’t you call your veterinarian to set up a visit?
