ECDC Now Offering Scholarships to 2014 VLC

The Early Career Development Committee (ECDC) invites veterinarians who graduated within the past 15 years to apply for scholarships to attend the 2014 Veterinary Leadership Conference (VLC) in Chicago, IL (January 9-12). The Committee is looking for AVMA member veterinarians with an interest in developing their leadership potential. Zoetis has partnered with the ECDC to cover the registration, travel, and board for the three scholarship recipients.

Not only is the VLC the perfect place to learn how to explore and cultivate your leadership skills, it provides individuals a chance to learn more about all the AVMA does for its members. Opportunities for networking with other Emerging Leaders, current AVMA entity members (such as members of the House of Delegates and Executive Board), and state veterinary medical association Executive Directors and Presidents are abundant.

The scholarship recipients will provide a summary narrative of what they learned at the VLC and how they can apply this knowledge in their career. Just listen to what some of our previous attendees have had to say:

“…This conference really changed my perspective about organized veterinary medicine and opened my eyes to a lot of things that I didn’t know were happening. All in all, I had a great time, met a lot of wonderful people, and gathered an abundance of knowledge that I have taken back and already started applying at my clinic.” -Recent Graduate

“The best Conference I have attended in the last 10 years!” -Recent Graduate

The deadline for application is November 15th, 2013. Scholarship recipients will be selected and notified by December 2nd, 2013. You can download the scholarship application here.
