Ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? We seek veterinarians who are looking to enhance their leadership skills and lead our profession into the future. If you’re an AVMA member who is 15 years out from veterinary school or less, the Future Leaders Program might just be the program for you!
It’s all about the journey. The goal of the Future Leaders Program is to help veterinarians strengthen their leadership skills for the benefit of the veterinary workplace, society as a whole, and especially our profession through leadership in organized veterinary medicine. In other words, this program is a springboard for veterinarians driven to lead. We achieve the program’s goals by facilitating our Future Leaders’ growth, both as individuals and as members of a team. Throughout the year, Future Leaders get to complete 360-degree assessments and follow their short- and long-term goals with our professional facilitator Dr. Ken Andrews, while also hearing leadership lectures and fostering individual relationships with prominent veterinarians in the field. Each class of Future Leaders also works as a team, to strengthen teambuilding and project-management skills, while also developing novel, useable resources for AVMA members to utilize. The Future Leaders Program continues to be funded exclusively by Zoetis; facilitation services generously provided by Dr. Andrews with High Impact Facilitation.
