Meet up with us at AVMA Annual Convention in Boston

Meet up with us at AVMA Annual Convention in BostonThe AVMA Annual Convention will be held July 10-14 in Boston, and we hope to see you there! Before you go, be sure to download the AVMA Convention App (available for iPhone, iPad, and Android) to stay current on session changes, exhibitor contact information, and track your CE.

We love meeting and talking with our members one-on-one, and Convention is a great place to catch up with us to share your concerns and interests, and learn more about what we’re doing to protect, promote and advance the profession. Here are some of the places you can find us:

AVMA Pavilion – Exhibit Hall

Be sure to visit the AVMA Pavilion in Booth 721 of the exhibit hall. The biggest event at the pavilion this year is the unveiling of the new AVMA on Saturday, July 11, at 6 p.m. Join us to learn about how the AVMA is evolving to ensure that your voice, ideas and passion help us advance our profession even more than ever before. A welcome reception will precede the unveiling event, starting at 5:30 p.m. and running until 7 p.m. at the pavilion.

AVMA staff also will be available at the pavilion during all exhibit hall hours for you to share your opinions and concerns. The AVMF, GHLIT, and PLIT will also have staff available in the pavilion, in addition to separate booths for GHLIT and PLIT. (See booth numbers below.)

Other events planned for the Pavilion include salary-related discussions presented by the AVMA Economics Division (see the “Economics” section below) and the unveiling of next year’s class of AVMA Future Leaders.

Daily convention passport drawings will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, July 11 and 12, and at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 13. For details of all events at the AVMA Pavilion, view the full presentation schedule.

The Council on Education will hold a listening session – and report on its responses and recent actions to address feedback received in earlier sessions – from 3-5 p.m. on Monday, July 13, in the Harbor Ballroom 1 at the Westin Boston Waterfront hotel. The session will be recorded, and a transcript will be made available later.

AVMA’s Governmental Relations Division staff will be available at the AVMA Pavilion to speak with members and students about the opportunities we offer in Washington, including the externship program for students and the fellowship program for veterinarians, and the association’s legislative agenda.
