That’s a wrap! Highlights and insights from the 2015 AVMA Convention in Boston

The 2015 AVMA Annual Convention was held in the historic city of Boston from Friday July 10-Tuesday July 14. Preliminary attendance figures put the total number of registrants at 8,963. In addition, over 300 exhibitors were also on site to promote new products, educate, and of course, give out the cool handouts and samples that we love to bring home. For more attendee information, check out the Tuesday edition of the Convention Daily News.

Education Insight

Continuing education programs, as well as interactive labs, were offered Friday through Tuesday, with more than 1,000 sessions available to registrants. Attendees were able to navigate the extensive CE offering using the convention App that helped to build personalized schedules that align with professional interests and to track acquired CEs.

The sessions covered a broad range of educational topics within companion animal medicine, food animal, practice management, and public and corporate practice hosted by experts in those fields. These continuing education sessions not only offered learning opportunities, but also fostered good conversation and debate among experts on several hot topics, such as Influenza A in companion animals, compounding, biosafety, and the Ebola virus and animals, just to name a few.
