From recent veterinary school graduates to veterinarians with years of experience, every veterinarian possesses the skills needed to make a difference. The AVMA Fellowship Program is an unparalleled opportunity to shape public policy while enhancing your knowledge of the political process.
The program offers veterinarians a unique opportunity to spend a year in Washington, D.C., working on Capitol Hill as a scientific resource to members of Congress and their staff. Fellows play pivotal roles in shaping and influencing key legislation that affects the veterinary profession, the safety of our food supply, and the health and welfare of animals.
Interested in applying? Check out the AVMA’s website where you can find the 2016-2017 application form, our frequently asked questions page, and even videos featuring two recent fellows discussing their experiences working on Capitol Hill.
The deadline to apply is Feb. 12, 2016. Questions can also be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The 2016-2017 AVMA Fellowship Program will run in conjunction with the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s Fellowship Program from the last week of August 2016 until August 2017. This program is made possible in part by the generous support of the American Veterinary Medical Foundation.
