Connect with AVMA at NAVC

Heading to Florida for the North American Veterinary Conference? We’d love to see you at our booth in the exhibit hall, or at a Sunday networking event. Here’s how you can connect with us:@work_NAVC_RGB

Staff from our advocacy office will be available in the exhibit hall (booth 312) to talk about our efforts to protect, promote and advance veterinary medicine – in Congress, in the regulatory process, and through partnerships with state, local and international veterinary organizations. Find out how we’re advocating for veterinarians, and discuss what efforts are important to you. Our current legislative priorities include lowering the cost of student loans, eliminating the withholding tax on the Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program, stopping the horrific practice of horse soring, compounding, and opposing unnecessary prescription-writing mandates for veterinarians. We’ll also be available to talk with you about our work on the Veterinary Feed Directive and protecting veterinary access to ketamine, or to help you sign up for action alerts or send letters to your members of Congress on the issues that matter most to you.

We’ll also have information available about applying for our congressional fellowship program. The deadline for applications is Feb. 12, 2016.

Join us at a networking event on Sunday, Jan. 17, hosted by the Women’s Veterinary Leadership and Development Initiative, AVMA and NAVC. The event will include table-centric discussions on topics critical to personal and professional leadership. It takes place from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Crystal Salon G at the Marriott World Center, and is supported by Zoetis, Merial and Banfield Pet Hospital.
