Clinical practitioners sought for Council on Education position
Applications are being accepted for three open COE positions, including one representing private clinical practice. Applicants for this post must be AVMA members whose veterinary endeavor is exclusively private clinical practice. Applications are due Feb. 15.
Veterinarians know how critical education is and how vital it is to find the best people to oversee veterinary college accreditation. This is one of the most important volunteer roles that AVMA members can fill, and we encourage all members in private clinical practice to consider applying for the post. If appointed, you will have the opportunity to work with a committed group of practitioners, academicians and public members of the COE to help ensure the quality of veterinary education.
Interested members can find more details and nominating materials here. We also urge you to learn more about the work of the Council on Education and its members.
Additional COE positions also open
Two other positions on the Council on Education also will be coming open in July. Those members will be appointed by the American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC), which is charged with making academic appointments to the Council on Education.
Help us spread the word
Even if you aren’t yourself a private clinical practitioner, or don’t feel you can commit to serve on the COE, you can still help us identify qualified applicants. Please share this information with colleagues, especially those who are interested in veterinary education, and encourage them to apply.
