Dr. Rene Carlson

René Carlson was President of the AVMA in 2011-2012. She has been in small animal practice for more than 30 years. She has previously served in AVMA’s House of Delegates, on the Council on Education, and as Vice President of the AVMA. Dr. Carlson’s other passions include sailing anywhere in the world, especially on their own boat on Lake Superior, birdwatching, biking, cross-country skiing, and reading. She lives in Chetek, Wisconsin, with her husband, Mark (also a veterinarian) and her two dogs, a “wire-haired beagle terrier” named Mona Lucy, and a 13” beagle (both previously bedraggled strays) named Ally McBeagle.
