Victoria Broehm

Victoria Broehm served as the communications manager in the AVMA’s Governmental Relations Division (GRD), based in Washington, D.C., from 2012 to 2016. In her role, she did everything from handling the GRD’s press inquiries to developing advertisements for D.C.-area publications to managing the monthly e-newsletter The AVMA Advocate to creating new multimedia communications products.

Prior to working at the AVMA, Victoria managed Web communications for the Nuclear Energy Institute. There, she lead the institute’s digital response to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant accident in Japan in 2011—a crisis communications campaign that has received several public relations awards. Before that, Victoria served as a political appointee for the George W. Bush administration in the public affairs offices at the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Administration.

Victoria has a master’s degree in strategic public relations from George Washington University in D.C. and a bachelor’s degree in political science and communications from the University of Washington (Go Huskies!) in Seattle.

Victoria enjoys traveling, learning how to play the banjo, “competing” on her UW alumni volleyball team (Go D.C. Dawgs!), and playing with her cat Dusty and puppy Bula.
