Rhondalee Dean-Royce
Rhondalee Dean-Royce previously was the communications manager for the AVMA’s Governmental Relations Division (GRD) based in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining the GRD, Rhondalee worked as a communications and media relations professional at a variety of trade associations, such as the American Psychiatric Association and the National Corn Growers Association, where she had significant experience in issues ranging from ethanol and agriculture to mental healthcare. She also worked for U.S. Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) and former U.S. Senator Connie Mack (Florida), giving her tremendous insight into the workings of Capitol Hill.
Rhondalee was born in Ft. Bragg, N.C., and traveled a little as an Army brat with her family. She was raised in Camden, Maine.
Rhondalee holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science, History and Government and an Associate Degree in Animal Science from the University of Maine at Orono. She moved to the Washington, D.C., area in 1997. Along with her husband, she has two young daughters and three pets: one dog, a Collie-husky Mix named Gunny; and two cats, Kahlua and Camden. Rhondalee also shares a long-haired purebred German Shepard named Koenig with her parents who live in Maine.
