The value of collaborating at the interface of human, animal, and ecosystem health, “One Health,” continues to be recognized as a viable strategy to tackle some of today’s most challenging health issues, including zoonotic disease prevention, disaster mitigation measures, and physical wellness of people and their pets. The One Health Commission is an organization set out to promote wide recognition of the value and efficiency of One Health-oriented collaboration.
The AVMA is looking for a representative on the Board of the One Health Commission to help guide the Commission as it implements its strategic plan and fulfills its mission. Nominations for this volunteer opportunity to serve as AVMA’s representative are due on October 7, 2013.
