New JAVMA mobile app puts the journal on your smartphone or tablet

The Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association (JAVMA) can now be read on any Apple or Android device thanks to a new JAVMA mobile app available in both the Apple App and Google Play stores.

Now JAVMA fits in your pocketThe new app makes the full journal easy to read on both smartphones and tablets, with a suite of features designed with subscribers in mind:

  • Pinch-to-zoom functionality
  • Full text and archival search
  • Notes and bookmarked pages
  • Article sharing via email and social media
  • Navigation by table of contents and page carousel
  • Online and offline reading options

The app also offers two reading formats: a fixed layout – or replica – version that looks similar to a PDF, and a responsive version that reformats text and images to fit the screen and is optimized for small devices like smartphones. In addition to giving readers online access, the app allows you to download issues directly to your mobile device for offline reading anywhere.

JAVMA readership surveys show the number of members who read – or are interested in reading – JAVMA on mobile devices has increased steadily over the past five years.  For these readers, mobile accessibility is key to staying up-to-date on the latest developments and research in the veterinary profession.

The app provides an additional access point for this growing community of veterinarians-on-the-go to read the veterinary profession’s leading medical journal. JAVMA will continue in its print format and also will continue to be posted online at

The JAVMA app is available to individual subscribers through the Google Play Store for Android devices or the Apple App Store. Once the app is downloaded, you can access your JAVMA subscription by entering the same user ID and password you use to access the AVMA website. Once you’ve started using the app, we encourage you to give it a 5-star rating to let other users know how much you like it!
