If you will be in Orlando next week attending VMX (formerly the NAVC conference), be sure to visit AVMA at booth #2700 and speak with our staff about the many tools and programs we offer to help AVMA members succeed at every stage of your career.

We’ll be joined in booth #2700 by representatives from the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) and Partners for Healthy Pets (PHP), so you also can learn about the many resources and programs they offer to benefit you and your practice.

Stopping by our booth offers a great opportunity to meet and talk with AVMA staff members face-to-face, let us know your concerns, and share your suggestions for our work on behalf of AVMA members and the veterinary profession. Your input is critical to ensure that the AVMA is able to support our diverse profession and position all of our members for success. We use these conversations to explore new tools and resources that we can develop, so it’s a way for you to have a direct impact on our profession.

The AVMA also will participate in several activities with industry partners during VMX. One is the release of a new study of veterinary wellbeing by Merck Animal Health, which surveyed more than 3,500 AVMA members to quantify the prevalence of mental illness and levels of wellbeing  in our profession. The study findings will be released on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 5:30 p.m. in the Orlando Ballroom N at the Hyatt Regency Orlando.

As part of our work to help AVMA members successfully incorporate telemedicine services in your practices, the AVMA telehealth project team will meet at VMX with telehealth solution providers and others interested in the digital healthcare space to discuss telehealth-related challenges and opportunities facing the veterinary profession.

We’re also excited about the launch of a new human-animal bond certificate program by NAVC and HABRI, for which AVMA is serving as founding educational partner. AVMA will join NAVC and HABRI on stage during the General Session on Saturday morning, Feb. 3, to announce the program. More information will be provided during a “HABits Panel Discussion” the next morning, Sunday, Feb. 4, with AVMA participating there as well.
