AVMA members earn CE credit from free webinars

AVMA members who are looking to earn continuing education (CE) credit on your own schedule can do so by viewing free webinars on a wide range of topics, from gonadectomy to aquatic medicine.

On-demand CE Webinars offered by the AVMA provide our members 24/7 access to a selection of recorded webinars, with the option to earn CE credit.

The webinars cover a variety of topics including the benefits and risks of gonadectomy in dogs, honey bee medicine, and how to use VFD (Veterinary Feed Directive) drugs in aquaculture. The latest addition, “Seoul Virus in Pet Rats,” provides information from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about Seoul virus transmission, veterinary testing and recommendations for prevention.

After completing each webinar, you’ll be offered the opportunity to earn CE credit by taking a brief quiz that tests your knowledge on the topic presented. These webinars are available only to AVMA members as a benefit of your membership in the association. You can access them through the meetings and CE calendar, where you also can search for meetings, events and other learning opportunities across the country.

The on-demand CE webinars are among many educational webinars offered by the AVMA. The AVMA also has a broad range of other recorded presentations that can be viewed online at any time without earning CE credit.

Some of these include:

  • Webinars for early-career veterinarians covering a variety of topics of special interest to recent veterinary school graduates, including financial literacy and internship opportunities.
  • Veterinary career webinars presented by our Veterinary Career Center on topics related to career development and non-traditional career opportunities. Recent topics have included practice ownership, forensic veterinary medicine, and making the transition from veterinary school to practice.
  • Practical tips for stress management, presented by the AVMA’s director of wellbeing and diversity initiatives.
