Webinar offers education and guidance on timely topic

If you were one of the 800-plus veterinary professionals who attended the AVMA’s recent webinar on cannabis, you were part of an important discussion that offered insight on the potential benefits, risks, and legal regulations surrounding cannabis-derived products. If you didn’t catch the live presentation and are an AVMA or SAVMA member, it’s not too late. The webinar is now available on demand for you to view at your convenience, and you can earn the same CE credit that was offered to live attendees.

What Veterinarians Need to Know about Cannabis, presented by Dr. Jeffrey Powers, member of the AVMA’s Council on Biologic and Therapeutic Agents and AVMA Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Gail Golab, was the highest-attended webinar to date in our Lead & Learn webinar series.

With increasing interest in cannabis as a therapeutic agent in both human and veterinary medicine, it’s important for veterinarians to have a working knowledge of cannabis. The Lead & Learn webinar series, which brings expert presenters to share insights into critical veterinary issues, was the perfect avenue to explore this pertinent topic. AVMA and SAVMA members who want to learn more, also can download Cannabis: What Veterinarians Need to Know, which offers guidance on advising clients and treating patients who may have been exposed to marijuana.

Lead & Learn webinars are offered free of charge to all veterinary professionals with the option to earn 1 hour of CE credit for each presentation. AVMA members who can’t attend the live sessions are able to watch them later, on demand, and earn the same CE credit.

This month, we’ll be presenting two more Lead & Learn webinars, on topics that are especially relevant to clinical practitioners: A discussion on how to make the veterinary business model more efficient, and guidance on bringing telemedicine services into your practice. See details for both of these presentations below. Space for both webinars is limited, so be sure to reserve your seats soon.
