Team of five veterinarians high-fiving

AVMA’s newest online certificate program can help you bring your veterinary organization to the next level of workplace wellbeing. Workplace Wellbeing 2: Self and Social Awareness takes learners on a deep dive into three areas central to workplace wellbeing: self-awareness, social awareness, and conflict management.

Building on key information and skills covered in Workplace Wellbeing 1: Setting the Foundation, level 2 shares new strategies and steps you can take to build a culture of belonging and connection. Available on AVMA Axon®, the program offers 3 hours of continuing education (CE) credit and is free for AVMA and Student AVMA (SAVMA) members. It costs just $75 for all other veterinary professionals.

Workplace Wellbeing 2: Self and Social Awareness is comprised of three modules that can be taken individually or completed as a unit, culminating in an AVMA certificate of completion. The modules are:

Self-awareness: From passion to peace
Identify the benefits of self-awareness and learn how to bring self-awareness practice into your work life.

Enhancing social awareness
Discover the beneficial impacts of social awareness on individuals, teams, and organizations. Learn tangible steps you can take to expand your social awareness.

Successfully navigating conflict: A deeper dive
Discover healthy ways to manage workplace conflict. Learn to navigate scenarios where conflict often arises, such as giving and receiving feedback, encountering emotional blackmail, and managing interpersonal relationships.

Have you already completed level 1?

Although not a requirement, completing Workplace Wellbeing 1: Setting the Foundation before starting level 2 provides the most comprehensive learning experience. Previously called simply the "Workplace Wellbeing Certificate Program," level 1 is a five-module series that lays the building blocks of knowledge and skills to foster wellbeing in your veterinary workplace. If you completed the program under its former name, you do not need to take it again. Your certificate remains valid, and you can continue your learning with Workplace Wellbeing 2: Self and Social Awareness.
