National Veterinary Technician Week

The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America has proclaimed Oct. 13-19 as National Veterinary Technician Week. The annual event marks the contributions of veterinary technicians as members of the veterinary health care team.

National Veterinary Technician Week provides veterinary technicians the opportunity to promote their profession to the public and colleagues. "Veterinary Technicians ... the heart of animal health care" is this year's theme, and focuses on the caring aspect of veterinary technicians' role.

Veterinary technicians are responsible for a number of areas in veterinary practice, including animal nursing, assisting with surgery, hospital management, and laboratory duties. They are also employed in biomedical research, the military, industry, and academia. For more information, visit www.navta.net or www.GoodNewsforPets.com.
