Accredited veterinarian utilization and program resources

UNDER REVIEW

The AVMA supports the vital role of USDA Accredited Veterinarians in animal and public health. Accredited Veterinarians are essential for recognition and reporting of animal diseases, health certification for animal movement, participation in state and federal disease control and/or eradication programs, and as a resource for emergency response. The AVMA encourages the USDA to devote adequate resources to administer the National Veterinary Accreditation Program, including ensuring continuing education through training modules and other necessary means, and updating such educational content as needed.
