National Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring System (NARMS)

The AVMA recommends the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) budget for adequate and equitable funding of resistance monitoring and for the timely reporting of results. The AVMA recognizes the current National Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring System (NARMS) as a resource for information on antimicrobial resistance trends of bacterial isolates from food animals, food animal products, and humans.
